Says dialogue between India, Pakistan inevitable for long lasting peace in J&K

Kupwara, Sep 30 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Congress chief, Ghulam Ahmad Mir Thursday said that the day there is non-BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir, they will enter with a resolution to assembly to reverse all the decisions taken on August 2019.

In his madien visit to the far flung area of Machil on north Kashmir's Kupwara district, Mir addressed a huge gathering of workers at Dudi playground.

Addressing the media, Mir said that the Late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpai famously said that one can change friends but not neighbors.

“The dialogue between India and Pakistan has been for the past 70 years, it should continue to settle all the differences and disputes. Congress believes in dialogue, we want the two governments should start a dialogue, to settle disputes,” he said.

Mir said that the Congress has never been a party of snatching things. “We have been in favor of Article 370, we have given it, no doubt Congress is paying a heavy price for speaking in favor of Article 370 but we have never taken a U-turn in our stand. Congress working committee, a policy making body is committed to restore the statehood and required status,” he further said.

Mir said that once the Congress government comes to power, the Machil area will get a better road connectivity. “We also improve the mobile connectivity in this far flung area,” he added. (KNS)
