Srinagar, Jul 27 (KNS): Supervisors working under social welfare department’s integrated child development scheme (ICDS) Saturday complained that they were without salaries for the last seven months and the authorities were unmoved.
A delegation of ICDS supervisors told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that their salary has been withheld from last seven months. “We are made to suffer on daily basis and despite being regular employees of the department we are treated worst than daily wagers,” they said.
“We work tirelessly for betterment of children.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelBut unfortunately, our own children are made to suffer as we are unable to even pay for their school fees. Some of us have to travel long distance to attend duties and spend Rs 100 per day on travelling. How will we sustain under these circumstances,” they said.
The ICDS supervisors said they knocked door of every state authority to seek redress to their problem. “But our pleas feel on deaf ears,” they said.
They also demanded that authorities should clear their promotion which according to them was pending for many years. (KNS)
