Rajouri 28 February (KNS) : ICAR-Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture, Srinagar here on sunday organized one day programme at Mohra village of district Rajouri for the socio- economic upliftment of tribal farmers. more than fifty farmers participated in this awareness cum plant distribution program .
The farmers were made aware of different horticultural crops which can be grown in the village. The programme was attended by Dr. OC Sharma, Dr. Madhu G S, Dr. Muneer and technical staff members Ishtaq and Showkat .
Various horticulture crops were briefly explained by the staff and planting material, farm implement kit and vegetable kit distributed to farmers.
Mushtaq Poswal one of the beneficiary of the program told that these types of program should be organised on regular basis so that people of this tribal area can get proper information regarding their crops and vegitables species suitables for this soil. He also said that area is also suitable for apples and other fruit tress but people of this area need awareness , he also Thanked ICAR-CITH team for organizing this programme.(KNS)
