Srinagar, Nov 17 (KNS): Humaira Gul wife of Dr Mudasir Gul, who was killed in Hyderpora encounter on Wednesday staged a protest along with other family members at press colony and urged the authorities to allow her one-year-old daughter to see her father the last time.

Humaira, while talking to reporters at press enclave Srinagar, lamented that her daughter haven’t seen father’s love yet and neither will see ever.

"Inaya my daughter since yesterday is holding her father’s photo and calling him Baba Baba. How would I explain to her all this. What should I tell her that where is her Baba,” said Humaira.

She said that Mudasir had left home without eating anything. “He was not feeling well. Where is my Mudasir. Why did they killed him,” she said.

"I want justice. Just for one last time I want to see my husband. I plead to the authorities to return his body to me,” said inconsolable Humaira.

She said that Mudasir meant the world to his father and mother. “His father wants justice. He wants to see him one last time and give him a dignified burial. Give justice to a helpless mother,” she said.

She said the police must come up with a proof that her husband was an OGW and the fact is that her husband had no militant links and was earning his livelihood in a clean manner.

“My one-year-old daughter has been crying since yesterday looking for her father. She cries baba, baba, and I have no answers to her. I urge LG Manoj Sinha to allow my daughter to see her father for the last time,” Humaira said.

She said the police must give her proof about her husband being an OGW. “Police can shoot me and my daughter if my husband is proven as an OGW and then nobody will question them,” said Humaira, while holding her daughter in her arms.

“My husband wasn’t an OGW but a doctor by profession. He was earning his livelihood in a clean manner.”

Other family members of slain Dr Mudasir were also part of the protest who demanded the return of his body for a dignified burial. “We appeal LG Manoj Sinha and IGP Kashmir to return the body of Dr Mudasir so that his daughter can see him one last time and we all could bid him a final goodbye,” they said.

Mudasir was among the four killed in Hyderpora encounter on Monday evening. Police said Mudasir was living in a rented room in a building where the encounter took place and that he had allowed slain militant Haider to use his rented room as a hideout. (KNS)
