Srinagar, Oct 24 (KNS): Chairman JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik who is languishing in custody from last many days along with Hurriyat leader Javed Ahmad Mir and Muhammad Amin Magloo was today taken to SMHS hospital for medical checkup, front spokesman said in a statement.
“After checkups he has been again shifted to police station Kothibagh,” the statement said. JKLF vice chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakshi also continues to remain under house arrest while as JKLF activists Muhammad Ramzam Sofi and Hafizullah Sofi who were arrested by police three days back are still in police station Parimpora.
The statement added that Malik while describing 27th October as blackest day in the history of Jammu Kashmir, said that this was the day when Indian army forcefully occupied Jammu Kashmir and snatched our freedom. “This illegal occupation continues till date and lakhs of Kashmiris have sacrificed their lives for freedom,” he said. Yasin Malik said that people of Kashmir will observe a complete shutdown on 27th October as a mark of protest against illegal and forceful Indian occupation.
While remembering the sacred sacrifices rendered by Syedna imam I Hussain and his associates at Karbala,JKLF incarcerated chairman said that the martyrdom of Imam Hussain(RA) and his companions at Karbala is a lesson for all generations. Yasin Malik said that Hussainiat teaches us unity and oneness. It teaches us that at times when we are to choose between oppressed and oppressors, we should always choose oppressed and oppose oppressors at every cost. He said we all have one Kalima La illaha illalllah Mohammad ur Rasoolullah and this is the bond that unites us all. Our Allah is one, our prophet (SAW) is one, our ka’aba and Qibla is same, that is why we all should be one and united , added Yasin Malik. He said that the struggle in Kashmir is also a Continuation of the Battle of Karbala and acting as commanded by Imam I Hussain(R A) we all should support this struggle and resistance. Malik said that today tyrants and oppressors have arrested hundreds of those who are siding with the oppressed people. Tyrants and oppressors have unleashed a reign of terror and ban has been imposed on even observing Muharam. This oppression is a glaring example of the mindset of rulers who at the behest of their RSS masters can cross any limit in Muslim and Kashmir enmity. While condemning strongly the desecration of Quranic pages at Doda, JKLF chairman said that rulers should bear in mind that a Muslim can bear anything but cannot tolerate any desecration of his or her religious symbols.
Meanwhile Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front diplomatic bureau has presented a memorandum to United Kingdom (UK) foreign and common wealth office in which JKLF has asked United Kingdom to ask Indian Prime Minister Nerander Modi to shun policy of oppression and communal politics in Jammu Kashmir. The memorandum was presented by JKLF diplomatic bureau chief professor Zafar khan and Mehmood Hussain.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThis Memorandum is about India’s oppression in Kashmir, including denial of right to assembly and free speech, denying JKLF Chairman Mr Yasin Malik his fundamental rights to engage with the public and growing violent extremist chauvinism led by BJP and RSS nexus in Jammu Kashmir; and on the inaction of UN permanent members including the United Kingdom in the resolution of the Kashmir issue. The memorandum was presented at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office-FCO by the JKLF delegation during discussion with the FCO officials on 21 October 2015. The memorandum says that “As the UK prepares to welcome Indian Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi in November 2015 we consider it our duty to remind Her Majesty’s Government-HMG- that Mr Modi must be taken to task on the unresolved political status of Jammu Kashmir. And that Mr Modi should be taken to task on communalism, extremism and chauvinism that has been unleashed under his watch in Kashmir. He should be taken to task on the oppressive and undemocratic methods adopted by Indian occupation forces to stifle public expression, and deny the pro freedom and anti-status quo politicians like Mr Yasin Malik, their democratic right to engage with the masses in the public square. The memorandum also says that “Today Mr Modi and his lieutenants have gone as far as to say that there is no Kashmir problem or Kashmir issue, as was declared quite blatantly by Mrs Sushma Swaraj, the Indian Foreign Minister last month, at the UN General assembly in New York. It is incredible therefore that India is demanding a seat at the top table in the comity of nations when she does not care to honour the resolutions of this August world body, which with the purpose of its inception, is bound to uphold the fundamental principles of justice, liberty and democracy for the subjugated, dispossessed and colonized people of the world like the 20 million people of Jammu Kashmir. It has to be said however that the UN and the permanent members of the UN Security Council, -UNSC- on the question of Kashmir’s future political and constitutional status, have also patently failed the 20 million Kashmiris in resolving the issue in accordance with their fundamental right to self-determination. We strongly believe that UNSC’s inaction has enabled India to hold on to Kashmir with the force of arms as there are over 700-000 Indian military and paramilitary forces of occupation in the territory.
