Husband of BJP candidate from Sopore falls ‘unconscious’ after serving tea by shopkeeper; authorities says “verifying facts”

Sopore, Dec 08 (KNS): In a rare incident, husband of BJP’s DDC candidate from Seelu constituency of Sopore fell unconscious on Tuesday after taking tea at shop.
Reports reaching to KNS said that the husband of Dr Fareeda Khan, a DDC contestant from north Kashmir’s Sopore fell unconscious after he took few sips of tea in Selu.
It said that he went Selu for making election poster and in the meantime he was offered by tea by the shopkeeper.
Sources said soon after the incident he was rushed to sub district hospital Sopore for treatment.
BMO Sopore Dr Asif Khanday told news agency over the phone that his stomach was washed immediately and a report has been sent to FSL. He however added that his condition is stable.
Dr Fareeda Khan also confirmed KNS that his husband is stable and is undergoing treatment.
When asked the reason she said it is premature to say anything till FSL report is available.
Meanwhile a police officer told KNS that the shopkeeper has mixed some substance in the tea, resulting the husband of DDC candidate fell unconscious.
“The case has been registered under relevant sections of law and investigations set into motion”, the police officer said. (KNS)
