Srinagar, Sep 26 (KNS): Hurriyat (M) Monday thanked the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers for reaffirming their support to the Kashmiri people’s right to self determination and resolution of Kashmir dispute at the Annual Coordination Meeting of OIC Foreign Ministers, where it has asked its human rights commission to monitor the human rights situation in Kashmir and submit a report to the next session of the council of ministers.
Strongly condemning the illegal arrest and detention under the infamous Public safety act (PSA) of Imams Abdul Qayom Mattoo, Saifuddin Bagwan and Firdous Ahmad Bagwan of Kishhtiwar district and the imposition of curfew in the area since then to prevent peoples protests and resentment, the spokesman in a statement issued to KNS said “Governments crackdown and intolerance of even Imams Khateebs and Masjid intizamia members is deplorable .The paranoid government sees any and everyone who raise their voice against injustices and grave human rights violations and in support of the just freedom struggle as a threat and resorts to the standard despotic response of caging them.”
Asking the government to stay away from its anti-Islam and anti-human activities, the spokesman called upon the immediate release of the imams.
The spokesman said that the entire people of the state from Kashmir to Chenab to Pir Panjal to Kargil and Drass are speaking loud and clear in one voice, asking for the right of self determination there are no so called multiple "regional narratives".Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“Despite the tremendous onslaught against them they continue to stage peaceful protest demonstrations and marches while the "democratic" government continues to impose strict curfew, restrictions and curbs, ransack residential houses, kill innocent civilians and make arbitrary arrest them to break their will. But people from all these regions have shown tremendous courage and unflinching resolve towards the movement,” he said.
The people of south Kashmir, the spokesman said have been the torch bearers of the current phase of the freedom struggle having borne the maximum brunt of brutalities unleashed by the Indian forces yet having shown steadfastness and grit, while other regions did not lag behind in complimenting them.
The spokesman said the BJP-PDP coalition government in the state was craftily executing its policy of demographic shift in the state by uprooting Muslims of Jammu and evicting them from their habitations, under the garb of "demolition against encroachments" which the people of the state will not tolerate.
The spokesman condemned the arrest of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Vice President, Advocate Bashir Ahmad Bhat and senior JKLF leader, Muhammad Yasin Bhat. (KNS)
