Srinagar, Apr 20 (KNS): Terming the incident of violence in Rajouri’s Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) as unfortunate, a spokesman of the Hurriyat (M) Wednesday said it was the responsibility of the university administration it protect students from harms’ way and also stop admitting communal and extremist elements on the varsity campus so that students feeling insure get a sense of security.
Terming the clashes among the students in the varsity as a cause of concern, the spokesman urged students from Kashmir valley, and other areas of Jammu Kashmir to live peacefully with love and brotherhood and focus their attention and energies on studies instead of vitiating an atmosphere of brotherhood.
Meanwhile, terming the curbs imposed by the state administration on the Hurriyat (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who has been placed under house arrest for the past more than a week now, as inhuman, unjustified and undemocratic, the spokesman said the Mirwaiz was being stopped from performing his religious, social and political obligations.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Pointing out that by placing such severe restriction on the movement of the APHC Chairman, the spokesman said the government had made clear its policies of aggression against him.
Stressing that the government was trying to stifle the voice of the resistance leadership by using excessive force and thereby choking their Right to Freedom of Expression, the spokesman said people were being victimized by aggression and violence carried by the state which was not only a violations of human rights but also an example of political vendetta.
The spokesman also condemned the continued house confinement of the APHC Media Adviser, Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam. (KNS)
