Srinagar, Apr 12 (KNS): Terming the recent statement of UN as ‘significant and timely’ wherein it expressed concern over the rising tension between India and Pakistan and stressed upon them to solve their issues through peaceful means, the Hurriyat (M) spokesman Wednesday stated that the rising tension between the two nations over the issue of Kashmir was with every passing day taking a dangerous turn.
In a statement issued to KNS, the spokesman said that the confrontational approach between the two nations has in past given rise to armed conflicts and wars, resulting in death and destruction at large scale and the rising current tensions between the two nations is taking an alarming shape, the spokesman added.
The spokesman stated at this crucial juncture, the concern of UN over Kashmir and the offer of mediation to solve the Kashmir issue between India and Pakistan through peaceful dialogue shows that International community is deeply concerned about the Kashmir dispute and is keenly watching the situation over here.
He added that it further proves that there is a growing realization at international level that without resolving Kashmir issue, the clouds of a nuclear conflict are going to remain there which endangers the peace of the region and the world.
The spokesman said the numerous agreements and rounds of bilateral negotiations have failed to solve the Kashmir dispute from past 70 years.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelAs such, the spokesman said, the third party mediation becomes inevitable to solve the issue of Kashmir between India and Pakistan.
The Hurriyat spokesman meanwhile paid glowing tributes to the five youth of Handwara area on their first martyrdom anniversary who were martyred by the government forces while protesting against an alleged molestation of a local girl by RR personnel.
The spokesman said that in spite of ordering probe, the forces personnel involved in the killing of unarmed protesting youth were not brought to justice till date.
Meanwhile, Hurriyaty (M) delegation including Ghulam Qadir Beigh, Peer Ghulam Nabi, Hakeem Ghulam Muhammad, Muhammad Sidiq Hazar, Muhammad Ahsan Kathari visited Dhalwan and Daultpora area of Charare Sharief Budgam to condole with the families of three martyrs Faizan, Mohammad Abbas and Shabir Ahmad. While expressing their sympathy and solidarity with the families of the bereaved, the delegates prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
The Hurriyat (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq spoke to the bereaved families on telephone and while expressing his sympathy and solidarity he said the mission for which the martyrs have sacrificed their lives will be taken to logical conclusion at all costs. (KNS)
