Srinagar, Dec 17 (KNS): Hurriyat Conference (M) spokesman Saturday termed the continued detention of Dukhtaran-e-Milat (DeM) Chairperson, Syeda Asiya Andrabi despite quashing of Public Safety Act (PSA) imposed on her by the court as undemocratic and dictatorial tactics adopted by the state government.
In a statement issued to KNS, Spokesman said the son of the Dukhtaran leader, who herself is ailing, is presently admitted in a hospital for treatment after undergoing a surgery and at a time when he needs his mother by his bedside, the government was playing petty politics and indulging in inhumane treatment to him by continuing the detention of his mother.
Condemning the brute force used on the peaceful protestors throughout Kashmir on Friday, an Hurriyat (M) statement said the naked aggression of the government forces against people in every corner of Kashmir during the past few months in particular was an attempt to muzzle the voice and sentiments of the freedom-loving people of Kashmir with undemocratic and inhuman tactics, which is unfortunate and condemnable.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Denouncing the government for the inhuman treatment meted to hundreds of freedom-loving youth and resistance leaders detained in various jails of Jammu Kashmir including the notorious Kot Bhalwal Jail, the spokesman said the political prisoners were not even been provided the basic facilities necessary to be given as per the jail manual and Geneva Conventions.
He said the jail authorities were deliberately doing this and not providing even medical care or allow their families and friends to meet them, who are also harassed, which was in violation of basic human values and international norms. (KNS)
