Srinagar, Mar 7 (KNS): Paying glowing tributes to Dawood Ahmad Sheikh, who was killed in a gunfight with government forces at Bichroo in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Monday said that for the past several decades, Kashmiris had been offering sacrifices of life and property for their freedom and stressed that people needed to show the same steadfastness and involvement toward the ongoing resistance movement for taking the mission of these martyrs to their logical conclusion.
A spokesman of the conglomerate said Kashmir resolution, as per the wishes and aspirations of people of Kashmir, could prove the way to end the ongoing political uncertainty and bring peace in the entire subcontinent.
Senior Hurriyat leader Mukhtar Ahmad Waza was not allowed to participate in the funeral prayers of the martyred youth Dawood Ahmad Sheikh and detained at Police Station Sher Bagh in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district.

Earlier, a delegation of senior Hurriyat leaders, Muhammad Musadiq Adil, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Abdul Majeed Wani, Jaffer Kashmiri, Fayaz Ahmad and others visited the house of house of late Ghulam Rasool Khan alias Lassa Khan at Sonabrari Kokernag and expressed solidarity with his family and prayed for the peace of the departed soul.
According to another statement, APHC has felicitated Kashmiri Pandits on the festive occasion of Mahashivratri (Hearath) and said that being the integral part of the Kashmir’s social milieu, Hurriyat has always longed for their return to their home and hearth and live with dignity and honour in the Kashmiri society as they used to live before migration.
The statement also said that the return of Kashmiri Pandits is a human issue and everybody should abstain from doing politics on this sensitive human issue. (KNS)
