Srinagar, Apr 18 (KNS): Paying glowing tributes to senior resistance leader, S Hameed on his martyrdom anniversary, senior leaders of the Hurriyat (M) including Muhammad Musadiq Adil, Abdul Majeed Wani, Jaffar Kashmiri and a large number of Hurriyat activists visited the Martyrs Graveyard at Eidgah and offered special prayers for him.
On the occasion, the Hurriyat leaders while recalling the sacrifices of Shaheed S Hameed and thousands of other martyrs said their sacrifices cannot be repaid and that for the past seven decades Kashmiris had been bearing the brunt of atrocities yet carrying forward the resistance movement with steadfastness and valour.
Calling upon the international community to take serious note of the aggression carried by the state on the people of Kashmir, Hurriyat (M) leaders said they should play a positive role in helping resolve Kashmir issue as per their wishes and aspirations.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Meanwhile, Hurriyat (M) spokesman while condemning the continued house arrest of the Chairman, Mirwaiz Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, APHC Media Adviser Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam and detention of senior Hurriyat leaders Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi, Advocate Sheikh Yasir Dalal and several other Hurriyat activists since the killings in Handwara said oppressing people with excessive use of force cannot force people to give up their struggle based on just rights.
The spokesman said Hurriyat (M) delegation led by Javed Ahmad Mir visited SMHS Hospital and inquired about the health of the youth injured in firing by Indian forces and prayed for their early recovery. (KNS)
