Srinagar, Dec 14 (KNS): Paying glowing tributes to prominent resistance leader, Sofi Muhammad Akbar and recalling his contributions toward the resistance movement on his 28th death anniversary, Hurriyat (M) spokesman Monday said despite opposition and political pressures, Sofi Akbar remained steadfast and strived for the just and basic right of self-determination of the people of Kashmir until breathing his last.
Hurriyat (M) spokesman said at that time when most of Kashmir’s political leadership was busy securing seats in the State assembly and Indian Parliament and rendering their services to New Delhi for their vested interests, Sofi Akbar’s Mahaz-e-Azadi that he founded, was among a few prominent political and resistance groups of Kashmir offering sacrifices for the greater cause of Kashmir.
Spokesman said, on the directions of Hurriyat (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a high-level Hurriyat delegation comprising of Muhammad Musadiq Adil, Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Ghulam Nabi War, Ghulam Nabi Wasim and others visited north Kashmir’s Sopore town and offered Fateh Khawani prayers at marhoom Sofi Akbar’s grave.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Meanwhile, the Hurriyat (M) spokesman expressed grave concern over the increasing number of traffic accidents leading to loss of precious human lives across Jammu Kashmir.
Castigating the State administration for behaving in an irresponsible manner while dealing the menace of traffic accidents, he said it was unfortunate that precious human lives had become of no value in Jammu Kashmir and the authorities have left the people caught in miseries to their fate.
Spokesman demanded the State administration and traffic authorities to properly dispatch their professional duties and told them to stop playing with the lives of people so that precious human lives are not lost every day. (KNS)
