Srinagar, Oct 22 (KNS): Hurriyat (M) Media Adviser, Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam Saturday expressed strong resentment against the ruling class for stopping journalists from performing their professional obligations and for highlighting state terrorism like killings of innocent civilians, oppression and suppression of the people, and gross human rights violations.
Condemning everyday harassment of Kashmiri media persons, creating hurdles in way of circulation and distribution of newspapers, ban on English daily ‘Kashmir Reader’, and harassment and torture of ‘JK News Now’ web portal’s editor, a statement issued by the Hurriyat (M) Media Adviser said media is considered to be the Fourth Estate or the fourth pillar of vibrant democracies and newspapers in Kashmir not only highlight the sufferings and sentiments of the people but also report about the ground situation and inform the readers across the world about it, which is not only satisfactory but also noteworthy.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel(KNS)
