Srinagar, May 25 (KNS): A meeting of Hurriyat (M) chaired by Senior Hurriyat Leader Maulana Masroor Abaas Aansari was held at the Rajbagh Headquarters of the Conglomerate. Besides the current political scenario, the protest programme given jointly by the resistance leadership was discussed in detail in the meeting.
Strongly condemning the house arrest Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who had to chair the meeting of the APHC but was placed under house arrest by the authorities since the early morning of Wednesday, the participants in the meeting said that the repeated house confinement of the Mirwaiz reflected the frustration and the sense of defeat of the government.
It was further said that aggressive steps taken against the resistance leadership and putting them under confinement or detention was not going to stop them from representing the cause of the people.
Stressing upon the people to make the protest programme of 26th and 27th May 2016, given jointly by the resistance leadership, a success it was said that the government of India along with its collaborators in Jammu and Kashmir was busy in drawing plans to harm the political, economic and social interests of the people of Kashmir and to confront the situation a compressive and effective protest at the people’s level has become unavoidable.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The meeting also appealed the Imams of the Mosques to create awareness about the situation among the people.
In the meanwhile a Hurriyat Spokesman has condemned the House Arrest of the Hurriyat Media Advisor Adv. Shahid-ul-Islam and Senior Leader Javed Ahmad Mir who were put under house arrest Wednesday afternoon. The spokesman has also demanded an impartial probe in the killing of two youth at Sariabala Srinagar on Tuesday. (KNS)
