Hurriyat (M) condemns Mirwaiz’s, Geelani’s house arrest

Terms shifting of Malik to central jail as Govt’s frustration

Srinagar, May 29 (KNS): Hurriyat (M) has said that the entire resistance leadership has a clear stand against the anti-Kashmir and anti-people policies and that the policies which are aimed at harming the interests of Kashmiri people by changing the demographic character of the state or diluting the disputed nature of Jammu and Kashmir would be resisted with complete determination and unity.
Condemning the arrest of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik and lodging him at Central Jail Srinagar, the APHC said by doing so, the government was only exhibiting its frustration.
Hurriyat (M) also condemned the house arrest of the amalgam Chairman, Mirwaiz Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Farooq for the fifth consecutive day and continued house arrest of the veteran resistance leader, Syed Ali Shah Geelani and said the government seems to have been frustrated by coming forward of the united resistance leadership for the larger goal of Kashmiri people and was now cracking down on the resistance leadership and workers through detentions and house arrests, restrictions and curbs but made it clear that such tactics had never worked against the resistance movement in the past nor would they work in the future.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Hurriyat also condemned the house arrest of senior leaders Mukhtar Ahmad Waza and Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam and sought the immediate release of all the resistance leaders from detentions and house detentions.
“The puppet government did not have the courage to fight the resistance leadership politically and was as such banning their peaceful activities, placing curbs on their movement and arresting them, and in a way accepting their defeat.”
Meanwhile a delegation led by senior Hurriyat leader Musadiq Adil visited the house of Martyr Adil Ahmad Mir at Brath Sopore to express sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family. Adil attained martyrdom during a gunfight with government forces at Tangmarg on Friday.
Paying tributes to Asia and Nelofar of Shopian South Kashmir, the APHC said even seven years after the killings of their killers had not been punished. (KNS)
