Hurriyat (M) condemns arrest of unarmed civilians in Bandipora

Srinagar, Nov 17 (KNS): Hurriyat (M) Tuesday condemned the arrest of unarmed civilians including two women and their barbaric thrashing at the hands of Indian Army personnel in Chuntimullah area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora region and termed it gross violation of human rights.
A spokesman of Hurriyat (M) said the presence of numerous Army camps in towns and villages across Kashmir was the main reason for all these rights violations occurring in Kashmir during the past two and a half decades.
He said Indian forces were taking advantage of draconian black laws like Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFPSA), which grants them unbridled powers, and it was in the garb of these laws that they were carrying out atrocities on common masses.
The spokesman said the rulers in the state, particularly the chief minister’s blaming people for the deteriorating situation in Kashmir and overlooking the human rights violations carried by the state including Police and the other government forces indicated the height of opportunism.
He said it was unfortunate that while the killings and assault on peaceful protestors by the Indian forces do not prick the conscience of the chief minister, he was vocal in defending government forces indulging in all types of atrocities.
Hurriyat (M) spokesman said the chief minister was visiting different Indian states and misleading people of India about Kashmir issue but added that this cannot hide the reality of Kashmir issue or human rights violations committed by the government forces or the dictatorship run in Jammu Kashmir in the name of democracy.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Recalling the selfless services of Kakapori, Hurriyat (M) leaders said his entire life was devoted to the Kashmir movement and that he had braved atrocities, spent his prime in jails and detentions where he had been subjected to torture, which had finally became a reason of his death.
Praying to the Almighty Allah for his Jannat-ul-Firdous, they said his sacrifice was a treasure of the ongoing resistance movement.
