Srinagar, Mar 02 (KNS): Hurriyat (G) on Thursday lashed at state administration for their ‘brute and callous approach’ and said that there is no justification for their ‘unconstitutional and immoral policy’ against detainees.
Lashing at PDP, Hurriyat (G) in a statement issued to KNS said, “They were rhetoric and parroting about providing political space to pro-freedom leadership, however it proved hoax and soon as they grabbed power they virtually turned state into a big jail.”
Hurriyat said it has become a routine, disturbing and quite horrible to count dead bodies and situation has turned from bad to worse.
Commenting over the reports about detainees lodged in different jails, Hurriyat (G) said that 27 thousand criminal cases and 20 thousand FIR were filed against civilians.
“They surpassed all records,” said Hurriyat (G) while referring to coalition led administration.
Hurriyat in its statement while furnishing details said that during people’s uprising in 2016 state authorities arrested 20 thousand while as PSA was slapped against six hundred.
The spokesman said that more than 450 activists are still languishing in different detention centers and police lockups.
Hurriyat (G) while strongly criticizing at administration, said, “Those bailed out by court are not released and on one or the other pretext their detention period is prolonged and those bailed out by judiciary are rearrested by police and detain them on fictitious charges.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel”
While referring to Tanveer Ahmad Dar (Old town Baramulla), Hurriyat (G) spokesman said, “He is handicapped and moves on crutches and the poor fellow is languishing in Kupwara jail since last four months.”
Hurriyat (G) expressed its deep concern over continuous detention of Bashir Ahmad Qureshi, Sheikh Mohammad Ramzan, Salman Yusuf , Danish Ahmad Malik, Gh Qadir Naikoo , Mohammad Shafi Wagey , Mohammad Shafi Khan, Riyaz Ahmad ( Islamabad ) Ashiq Husain Narchoor ,Showkat Ahmad, Khalid Husain ( Kulgam ) Gh Hassan Shah ( Sopor) Ab Khaliq Regu, Hakim u Rehman , Bashir Ahmad Bhat (Gloora) Gh Hussain Malik ( Glora) Ab Rashid Wani (Chogal) Mufti Ab Ahad ( Sopor) Nazir Ahmad Ganai( Spoor) Mohammad Ashraf Malik (Sopor) Imtiyaz Ahmad (Pattan) Mushtaq Ahmad (Pattan) Mohammad Ramzan ( Kerri) Mohammad Amin (Kulgam) and Farooq Ahmad Shah (Kulgam), said that even administration does not spare handicapped person and lodge them in detention centres.
In an appeal to ICRC, Amnesty International and international organization for human rights, Hurriyat (G) impressed to take their cognizance and use influence for immediate release of all detainees. (KNS)
