Expressing its deep sorrow and grief over the hanging of Yakub Memon, Hurriyat Conference (G) Thursday said that the intelligence officers interrogating Mamon had although recommended that he should not be given capital punishment “but by rejecting his mercy petition, the communal and fascist government of India has once again proved that there is no place for any mercy or sympathy with the Muslims in this country and hurting or harming them in any way is treated as service to the national cause.”
In a statement to KNS spokesman of the Hurriyat (G) Ayaz Akbar said, “If Indian judiciary is providing justice on the basis of equality, then the criminals involved in the bloodshed of Samjhauta Express, Mecca Masjid and Malegaon blasts and Gujarat like incidents should also be hanged and the secular tag of this country should be protected by punishing the culprits involved in the coldblooded murder of thousands of innocent people in these terrorist activities. The hanging of the Yakub Mamon has reopened the wounds of the Kashmiri nation and today the memories of the Shaheed Mohammad Maqbool Bhat and Mohammad Afzal Gooru are badly striking our hearts and minds who were hanged for no crime and whose dead bodies too were denied to their families.”
“By hanging the Yakub Mamon, the Indian government has not only once again confirmed their anti-Muslim attitude but they have proven that they are such a deceitful and cheat people who can no way be trusted and whoever believes on their promises are living into a fools paradise. Yakub Mamon had himself returned to India from Dubai and surrendered before the government and had cooperated in the investigation of the Mumbai blasts in an assurance that he will be forgiven for anything. If anything like morality or ethics would have been present in the policy makers of New Delhi, then they would not have rejected the mercy petition of the Yakub Mamon in any way,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Ayaz Akbar added that the people directly involved in the Samjhauta Express, Mecca Masjid and Malegaon blasts and who have butchered thousands of innocent and unarmed Muslims during the Gujarat riots are being granted bails by the courts saying that no concrete evidences are available against them. “And contrary to that the same Indian courts announces harsh punishments to the Muslims of the country who are arrested on doubts by saying that it is necessary to satisfy the collective conscious of the people. It simply proves that alike the government and police, the judiciary of this country is also biased and they follow different laws when it comes to the people related to other faiths and this is the country having two separate yardsticks and law books one for the majority community and other for the people related to the minorities,” he alleged.
The Hurriyat (G) spokesman said that the “secular and democratic claims of India are getting badly exposed day by day and this country is on its way to become a Hindu Rashtra.”
“It is a serious crime to be a Muslim in this country and the person having strong anti-Muslim sentiments is elevated to the higher posts of the country. That is why Mr. Narander Modi and Amit Shah have become heroes in India and this is the reward given to them for masterminding the anti-Muslim riots in Gujarat. But to the contrary the Muslims of this country are not only fabricated and implicated in false and baseless cases but sometimes they are being eliminated in custodial killings and fake encounters,” he said.
The Hurriyat (G) appealed the Kashmiri people to organize special prayers for Yakub Mamon after the Salah (regular prayers) and remember all the martyrs including Mohammad Maqbool Bhat and Mohammad Afzal Gooru.
