Huge consignment of drugs worth Lakhs recovered in Bandipora, FIR registered: Police

Bandipora, Oct 02 (KNS): Bandipora police today recovered 500 strips containing 12000 Capsules of Sposmoproxyvan drugs worth Rs.15 Lakhs in Lawaypora village.

Police in a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), said that based on specific information regarding concealment of drugs in Orchards of Lawaypora Bandipora, a police team of P/S Bandipora headed by SHO P/S Bandipora, Inspector Showkat Ahmad under the supervision of DYSP Headquarters Bandipora Mohmmad Idrees -JKPS was constituted on the directions of SSP Bandipora Shri Mohmmad Zahid-JKPS.

The team immediately rushed to the spot and conducted a search in an Orchard near village of Lawaypora Bandipora. 

During search operation, the consignment of drugs ( 500 strips containing 12000 Sposmoproxyvan) was recovered. These drugs were concealed in gunny bag and hidden under dense bushes in an orchard.

It is pertinent to mention here that these narcotics were worth Rs.15 Lakhs.

Spokesperson told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the consignment was meant to be supplied to youth in Bandipora town and its adjacent areas. The Value of drugs is approximately Rs 15 lakhs.

The Identification of the accused is being ascertained and the Case FIR No.172 /2021 under relevant sections of NDPS act has been registered in P/S Bandipora & further investigation has been started.

Arrest of many drug smugglers in the case is expected after investigation of the matter. (KNS)
