How Baramulla Saved Uri – Only One Casualty During Operation Sindoor

Baramulla, Apr 25 (KNS): Uri MLA Dr Sajjad Shafi on Saturday thanked the people of Baramulla for sheltering nearly 50,000 displaced persons from his constituency during last year's Operation Sindoor, saying their hospitality helped limit casualties to just one death.

Addressing a gathering at the Degree College for women, where Education Minister Sakina Itoo was present on the occasion, the legislator as per news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) recalled the mass displacement caused by the military operation along the Line of Control (LoC).

"Being the son of the soil, my love for Baramulla and its people — 50,000 of our people came here in Operation Sindoor last year," Dr Sajjad said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

"The love, affection and kindness given to me by the people of Baramulla — they left their homes for our people of Uri. Because of that, we had only one casualty, one death. That was the true spirit of brotherhood," he added.

"On behalf of the people of Uri, I thank you once again," the MLA said. (KNS)
