Srinagar, Nov 15 (KNS): The Inspector general of police Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar on Monday said that the house owner in whose house militants were hiding, was injured in militant firing and has succumbed to his injuries.

Kashmir zone police, quoting IGP Kashmir on its official Twitter said that the militants who were trapped in Hyderpora encounter were hiding on top floor of the house, whose owner was injured in the militant firing.

He said that as per source and digital evidence, the house owner was working as militant associate. 

“The house owner who was injured in terrorist fire, succumbed to his injuries. #Terrorists have been hiding on top floor of his building. As per source and digital evidence, he has been working as #terror associate. Search is still going on,” Kashmir zone police Tweeted.

Earlier, police said that two unidentified militants have bee killed in the ongoing encounter in Hyderpora area of Srinagar today evening.

Police said that the encounter broke out in the evening hours, when joint forces zeroed in on the suspected spot and the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.

“During the ensuing encounter two unidentified militants were killed, while search operation was going on,” police had said. (KNS)
