House of Aasiya turned into a jail: DeM

‘She needs to visit a doctor for medical check-ups’

Srinagar, Dec 26 (KNS): Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) Monday said even as court has released its chairperson Syeda Aasiya Andrabi, but her house has been virtually turned into a jail.
In a statement issued to KNS, the DeM while terming this brazen act of the government as highly atrocious and barbaric said that despite the release orders from their own court, her house has been turned into a jail.
“Aasiyah was in Baramulla sub jail since October 4 then her PSA was quashed. An open court ordered her release but was rearrested under. Again, the open court bailed her out and was again released. But now she has put under house arrest,” said the DeM.
The DeM spokesperson said Andrabi is ill and suffering from various ailments. “She needs to visit a doctor for necessary medical check-ups and treatment.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelBesides, the maternal uncle of Syedah Aasiyah Andrabi is critically ill. In the hour of extreme medical conditions, Aasiyeh Andrabi has to pay a visit to him, but her movement has been confined to her house only.”
The spokesperson questioned the logic behind releasing Aasiyah Andrabi and the keeping her under house arrest.
“What is the difference between a jail and converting a house into a jail,” she questioned? “There are numerous day to day affairs in one’s life. But, by denying movement and keeping cramped in a house turned jail the ‘instruments of occupation’ have touched extremes of atrocity,” said the spokesperson. (KNS)
