Horticulture dept organizes farmers awareness cum training camp in Bandipora

Bandipora August 05:(KNS)  To commemorate the monumental occasion of 75th anniversary of Indian Independence and celebrating the occasion as “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” Department of Horticulture organized farmers’ awareness/training camp at Anderkot Bandipora and Zakura Srinagar. Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (KAS) Director General Horticulture inaugurated the said training camps and in his introductory remarks emphasized on the importance of technology transfer and highlighted the need of capacity building of farmers by holding such camps. 

Director General while elaborating the different schemes of the department informed that the department is offering a host of 
developmental schemes for farmers right from establishment of new orchards upto harvesting and marketing of fruits. He also advised farmers to take maximum benefits under the said developmental schemes of the department. He also impressed upon the farmers to adopt environment friendly practices. DG Horticulture also ensured that such training camps will also be conducted across the valley in 
future.

The training camp was attended by concerned Chief Horticulture Officer and other functionaries of the department besides a good number of farmers. During these programme farmers thanked the Department of Horticulture for organizing such training camps and appreciated the DG Horticulture for his personal  participation at grassroot level.(KNS)
