Srinagar, Sep 12: Chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) and senior Hurriyat leader, Shabir Ahmad Shah on Monday expressed hope that the world leaders will press for “honourable solution” to “grave situation” in Jammu Kashmir during the 71st general assembly session of the United Nations that begins on Tuesday, 13 September, 2016.
In a statement issued to KNS, Shah hailed the statements of UK and Norway regarding the situation in Jammu Kashmir and expressed hope that other nations of the world will extend their support to our cause in the UN session.
“During the UN session, the Kashmiri people across the world must strongly raise voice against the oppression and atrocities unleashed on the people of Jammu Kashmir by India. We also have pinned hopes on Prime Minister Pakistan Mr Nawaz Sharif that he will highlight the grave crimes committed by Indian occupational forces in held Kashmir in the same session and will call for taking positive initiatives in resolution of the longstanding dispute,” he said.
Shah said the approach of Indian establishment regarding Kashmir is “anti-human” and urged the OIC to move beyond passing of resolutions and pressurize India.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
In his message to nation, Shabir Ahmad Shah said the subjugated people have no Eid until they unite to liberate their nation from the pangs of slavery. “The oppression is to be resisted with steadfastness, and history is witness to the fact that the nation that exhibited steadfastness succeeded,” he said.
Shah reiterated his appeal to people to take care of the needy and the deserving people of their vicinities on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha and offer Eid prayers as appealed by the resistance leadership besides making UN Chalo programme a success which is to remind the world body to fulfill its promises kept with Kashmiri people and pressurize India to stop the bloodshed in the State.
Meanwhile, Shabir Ahmad Shah expressed grief over the demise of the sister of the incarcerated Muslim League chairman Masarat Alam Bhat and extended his heartfelt condolence and sympathy with the bereaved family. He also prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul. (KNS)
