Srinagar, July 12(KNS): National Conference Chief Spokesperson and MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq, on Saturday said that paying tribute to the martyrs of July 13 is the party’s right and long-standing tradition.

Speaking to media persons, he said, “We have always done this and we will always do this.” He emphasized that the party has sought permission for the visit and is hopeful that the authorities will respond positively. “We hope that the LG government will give us permission as soon as possible,” he added.

He stressed that the planned visit is peaceful and respectful in nature. “We will go there, read the Fatiha and leave,” he said. He also said that he does not expect any law and order issues or any form of protest.

Tanvir Sadiq highlighted that this tradition was followed by various political parties prior to 2019. “Just like before 2019, every political party used to go. The National Conference also used to go and wants to continue doing so,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

He added that the sacrifices made by the martyrs are part of Kashmir’s history. “I think the contribution of the martyrs who died in Kashmir should be honoured,” he said. “Kashmiris should be allowed to remember them peacefully.”

“After April 22, the people of Jammu and Kashmir stood with the rest of the country,” he said. “Now it is time for the country to stand with them and support the revival of tourism and economic stability.”

He also said the party would act responsibly. “We are a responsible political party. We just want to go, read the Fatiha, and leave. There is no agenda other than paying respects,” he said.

Tanvir Sadiq concluded by saying, “We hope the Raj Bhawan gives us permission. We will go respectfully, perform the homage, and return. That is all we intend to do.”(KNS).
