Home Secretary invites 14 J&K mainstream leaders for a meeting with PM Modi on June, 24

Srinagar 19 June (KNS): Atleast fourteen leaders of Jammu and Kashmir have received call from central  government to attend a  meeting with Prime Minister  Narendra Modi on June 24 at his  Residence in New Delhi.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Union Home Secretary called up top J&K maintenance leaders, including Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, for attending a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi  on June 24 at his  residence in New Delhi. 

All the leaders who have been invited to attend meeting while confirming the invite for the proposed meeting to Kashmir News Service said that they have received a call from Union Home Secretary, Ajay Kumar Bhalla and have been asked to attend meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 24 at his residence in New Delhi .

Leaders who have received invitation call as of now include former Chief Ministers, Party Presidents and  Ex-Deputy Chief Ministers. 

Those invited  include Dr Farooq Abdullah, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti,  Sajad Gani  Lone, Altaf Bukhari, Ravender Raina, G A Mir, M Y Tarigami, Prof. Bheem Singh, Muzaffer Hussain Beigh, Tara Chand, Nirmal Singh and Kavinder Gupta .

One of the invitee while talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) when asked about the agenda of the meeting said that there is nothing like that but everyone will be free to put their suggestions and  proposals. 

All the invitees have been asked to carry RTPCR covid report if available, but the condition has not been made mandatory for attending the meeting.


Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party Chief Altaf Bukhari told KNS "Apni Party will attend the meeting. It is an honour to attend meeting called by the PM on the problems facing Jammu and Kashmir as all solutions to the J&K issues lies with him only". 

Notably the Kashmir News Service earlier reported that the central government is planning to reach out to major mainstream regional and national level political parties for participation in a round table conference likely to be held from June 24-25 in Delhi.(KNS)
