Srinagar, July 22 (KNS): As the deaths due to firing are mounting in the Kashmir valley, Home Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to arrive here on Saturday to review the prevailing situation.
Singh is scheduled to meet trade bodies, civil society and other stake holders.
He is likely to announce dialogue with separatists
A representative of the trade body told KNS that they have been invited to meet the minister. “But we are yet to decide about our meeting the visiting minister,” he told KNS.
The visit of the home minster comes a day after when the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti convened an all party meeting here to evolve a consensus among all stake holders to restore peace in the fresh turmoil.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The mainstream political parties in the meeting suggested holding dialogue with separatists for resolving the long standing issue.
Singh had himself in the ongoing Parliament session informed about his visit to the state.
“I had spoken to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who said she would come to Delhi in the next 2-3 days to hold discussions. I told her that I myself would like to go there, stay in a guest house and meet people there,” he had said.
On pellet guns that have left hundreds of youth blind, the home minister had said that a committee would be set up to review the use of the pellet gun use. (KNS)
