Srinagar, July 23 (KNS): While the Home Minister Rajnath Singh has reached Valley to hold dialogue with the cross section society of Kashmir, the opposition mainstream political parties here have decided to meet him on Sunday.
The opposition mainstream political parties including National Conference, CPI (M), PDF and DPN have decided to meet Rajnath Singh to discuss the current unrest in Kashmir.
National Conference provisional president, Nasir Aslam Wani told KNS that though the all party meeting called by the state government has failed, the NC leadership has decided to meet Rajanth Singh to discuss the ongoing turmoil in Kashmir.
Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) president and MLA Khansahib, Hakim Muhammad Yasin told KNS that he will be going to attend the meeting with Rajnath Singh.
Similarly, CPI(M) state secretary and MLA Kulgam, M Y Tarigami, Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) president and former agriculture minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir has also decided to attend the meeting with Rajnath Singh to discuss the issue pertaining to the ongoing cycle of violence in Kashmir that left 47 civilians including a cop dead and injured more than two thousand people during the protests following the killing of Hizb commander, Burhan Muzaffar Wani in a gunfight that raged between forces and militants in Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on July 8.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Pertinently, Kashmir’s trade bodies have decided not to meet the visiting union minister.
The state government had sent invitations to the business community for a meeting with the visiting Singh. But traders’ bodies said they will not meet the minister.
The trade bodies including KTMF, KEA, KVFGCDU and KCSDS, group of academicians, lawyers, doctors, columnists, businessmen and scholars are among the bodies who have boycotted the meeting with Home Minister. (KNS)
