Srinagar, Nov 12 (KNS): The Inspector general of Polic Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar on Friday said that one among the two militants killed in Kulgam encounter was district commander of Hizbul Mujahideen.

IGP told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that he was active since 2016 and has been identified as Shuraz Molvi and another one has been identified as Yawar Bhat.

IGP said that Shiraz was district commander of HM and was active since 2016 and involved in recruiting innocent youth into militant ranks.

He also said that Shiraz was involved in several civilian killings and his killing was a major success for the forces.

Earlier, on Friday an encounter broke out in Kulgam district in which two militants were killed. (KNS)
