Srinagar, June 04 (KNS): Inspector general of Police Kashmir zone on Saturday said that a commander of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen oufit was killed in an overnight encounter in Rishipora area of Kapran in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Kashmir Police Zone police while quoting IGP Vijay Kumar on its official Twitter handle said that militant commander of HM outfit HM Nisar Khanday has been killed in Anantnag encounter.
He said that incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 01 AK 47 rifle have also been recovered.
Police added that operation was going on and further details will be shared accordingly.
Encounter broke out in Rishipora area of Anantnag on Friday evening and in initial exchange of firing three army soldiers and civilian was injured.
An official said that all were shifted to 92 Base hospital for treatment, where their condition was said to be stable. (KNS)
