Baramulla, Jan 16 (KNS): Historic Sherwani hall in Baramulla district was damaged in a devastating fire incident on Sunday afternoon, officials said here. 

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that fire broke out inside the famous hall at around 2:30 pm and completely damaged the structure.

He said that soon after fire broke out inside the hall, fire tenders, police and army reached to the spot to douse off the flames.

The official said that before the fire could be put off, the structure was damaged completely. 

Notably, the hall was used for several social and political functions. (KNS)
