Srinagar, Feb 08 (KNS): State authorities put senior leader of Hurriyat Conference (M) and Chairman People’s Political Party (PPP), Engineer Hilal Ahmad War, under house detention on the eve of hanging anniversaries of Mohammad Afzal Guru and Mohammad Maqbool Bhat.
As per statement issued to KNS, SHO Police station Maisuma informed the Engineer Hilal Ahmad War about his house detention on Friday at 4:30 p.m. and said that he can’t move out from his Maisuma residence.
“This is unlawful and illegal action by J&K Police to prevent War from expressing solidarity with the families of these two heroes (Bhat and Guru) of Kashmir and staging peaceful protest to demand return of mortal remains of Afzal Guru and Maqbool Bhat,” statement said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
PPP spokesperson condemned the house detention and arrest of pro freedom leadership of Kashmir including party Chairman in strong words saying it amounted to State oppression and a denial of right to expression. (KNS)
