Srinagar, October 02 (KNS): With the aim of re-energizing Swachh Bharat Mission and also commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Jammu and Kashmir Health Ministry today launched an intensive state-wide sanitation campaign covering every government-run healthcare institution.
Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings, Ch Lal Singh and Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Asiea Naqash jointly supervised the sanitation drives across the state.
Lal Singh, who was in Jammu launched sanitation drive across various hospitals in the region, while Naqash supervised the sanitation drive at tertiary-care maternity Lal Ded Hospital in Srinagar.
“This is a beginning. We should make a habit of sanitizing our work places, especially hospitals,” Singh said.
“I am happy that all the staff members, irrespective of their positions participated in cleaning the hospitals,” he said.
Naqash personally supervised the sanitation drive, saying that such drives should be held to bring a sense of belonging among the employees. She boost the moral and was glad to see the enthusiasm of all those involved in the sanitation drive. Naqash appreciated the steps taken by the administration for this drive.
Naqash said government was putting all out efforts to further improvement system by providing infrastructure and human resource across the state.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe minister lauded the role of consolidated and contractual staff for their services in the hospital. “Under Mufti Sahibs able guidance, I can assure we have been able work for the betterment of the people in health sector,” she said.
Naqash asked officials to provide quality and hassle free services to the people for which he asked them to augment all material and human resources. “We want time from the people to set the things right. We want your cooperation,” she urged.
The officials at LD Hospital said that Srinagar Municipal Corporation had sent their men and machinery for making the drive a success.
The sanitation drive was supported and carried out under aegis of Medical Superintendent LD Hospital, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, while all the employees of LD hospital participated in the drive with enthusiasm cheerfully and with all willingness and good spirit.
Medical Superintendent, GB Pant Hospital, Dr Shafqat Khan informed that they have started a month long sanitation drive in the hospital. While as health officials across the sate been gearing up to clean up the hospitals.
Meanwhile the attendants and patients hailed the efforts of the hospital authorities to start a sanitation drive across the state hospitals. (KNS)
