Srinagar, Dec 18 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir High Court has asked the State Government and Airports Authority of India (AAI) to take “appropriate remedial measures” by upgrading lighting system and installing required gadgets at Srinagar airport for smooth flight operations to and from the airport.
In a Suo moto PIL, the bench comprising Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar and Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey said that air passengers face hardships due to non-upgradation of approach lighting system at the Srinagar airport.
According to KNS, the bench has made the State of J&K through Chief Secretary, Union of India through Ministry of Civil Aviation, AAI through its Chairman and Air Commodore posted at Air Force Station, Srinagar as respondents.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
It has further directed the respondents to take steps for providing all necessary facilities to passengers, travelling to and fro Kashmir by air, and ensuring their smooth travel. It also asked for compliance report in this regard to be filed before the next date of hearing. (KNS)
