Srinagar, Nov 29 (KNS): Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain (Rtd) who heads panel set up by government for Fee Fixation in private schools Tuesday said that they have received no formal application from parents, seeking waiving off of school fee for the past four months.
He told KNS that the panel headed by him cannot take the suo motto cognizance of the matter but can take it up after receiving any complaint from parents, directions from court or from the government.
“People who are taking streets demanding waiver of fees have not approached them so far. PIL has already been filed in this regard but so far the court didn’t direct us to take suo motto cognizance of the matter,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Imtiyaz Hussain said if the parents need Panel committee’s intervention then they must follow the proper approach in this regard.
Pertinently, parents had demanded waiver off school fees and other dues and had accused private school institutes of minting money.
They had also sought government’s intervention over the issue.
However, the private school association had said that they will waive off the school fees and others dues of the wards of transporters as the shutdown had affected them badly. (KNS)
