Srinagar, Oct 11 (KNS): Chairman of Democratic Liberation Party (DLP), Hashim Qureshi is mulling to file a case against national news channel, for allegedly distorting his interview.
In a statement issued to KNS, Qureshi while expressing anguish over the national television channel said that “the project special editor of India TV, Abhishekh Upadhyay on October 08 visited my house and pleaded for an interview. However, after assurances that my interview will be telecasted without any editing but my interview was telecasted in a wrong perspective.”
“In an interview, I condemned the use of pellets, bullets, tear gas shells on unarmed persons with an aim of killing, maiming and blinding them and termed it as inhuman act. But the TV editors edited my interview and telecasted it in a wrong perspective to defame me,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Hashim further stated that “During interview, I mentioned that if Mahatma Gandhi would have been alive then he would have felt ashamed over the atrocities being committed by the Indian forces on the people here and would have left India over such kind of happenings.”
He said that in this regard, he met with several lawyers and is planning to file a case against the TV channel for defaming him.
Qureshi said that he also had mentioned that the India and Pakistan should restore the position of August 15, 1947, which was also edited by the TV channel.
He urged India and Pakistan to resolve the Kashmir issue. (KNS)
