Srinagar, Oct 15 (KNS): Democratic Liberation party Chairman Hashim Qureshi has questioned the statements of the chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed over making the state as the tourist destination of the world.
In a statement to KNS, Qureshi said that Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed should take measures on warfooting to boost tourism in the state.
“Mufti, who is also holding the Tourism portfolio, has been time and again claiming that the state will be made tourism state are baseless. If the CM is serious in his stand then he should direct his administration to restore the prime beauty of the city which is Dal and Anchar lakes.”

“Dal lake is the back bone of tourism industry in the state. Huge encroachment that has taken place ove rhte banck of the lake remain as such despite dozens of court orders,” he said.
He questioned the role of LAWDA in restoring the Dal Lake and said that the authority gets huge funds from the government to safeguard the lake.
The officials who are assigned the role of protecting the lake are looting the funds in the name of preserving the water body, he said.
He appealed to the chief minister to take immediate measures to restor the lake’s pristine position. (KNS)
