'Students' safety legal, moral responsibility state govts concerned'

 Srinagar, Apr 05 (KNS): While describing the incidents of recent harassment and arrest of Kashmiri students studying in different educational institutions of India as sternly unfortunate and a matter of concern, a spokesman of Hurriyat (M) has said that such acts of harassment and bullying against Kashmiri students is causing serious and negative impact on their educational career besides becoming a reason of great worry for their parents and relatives.
The spokesman said, in the past too many Kashmiri students were targeted by resorting to harassment and even rusticated on flimsy pretexts from different professional colleges in some states of India.
The spokesman said the safety of these students is the legal and moral responsibility of the governments of the concerned states and the government of India should take serious notice of the acts where in people with the communal mindset indulge in targeting Kashmiri students with violence on just petty issues.
The spokesman has urged upon the students enrolled in different professional colleges of Kashmir including NIT to remain focused on studies and try to maintain the atmosphere of harmony and cordiality along with maintaining the credibility of these institutions, besides preventing themselves from indulging in any sort of bickering.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The spokesman has expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of the wife of Mohammed Shafi Shah of Kadipora Islamabad. The deceased was aunt of senior resistance leader Shabir Ahmad Shah and close relative of Hurriyat (M) media adviser Advocate Shahid ul Islam. The spokesman has prayed for the departed soul and expressed sympathy with Shabir Ahmad Shah, Advocate Shahid ul Islam and other family members.
The spokesman has strongly condemned the government’s refusal to allow Shabir Ahmad Shah to participate in the last rites of his aunt. The spokesman described the government’s decision of stopping Shabir Ahmad Shah in this hour of grief as highly condemnable and undemocratic. (KNS)
