Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Abdul Haq Khan has taken strong note of the dilapidated condition of Srinagar-Bandipora-Gurez Road and directed for its immediate black-toping.
During his extensive tour to the Gurez valley, the Minister asked Border Roads Organization (BRO) to start the repair works and black topping of the Gurez road immediately. Mr Haq Khan also asked Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora to extend necessary support to BRO so that the entire road is macadamized before the onset of winter. While talking to media, Khan said he had received many complaints from the people of Gurez about the bad condition of the road. “I decided to review all the development works in Gurez especially roads and I shall be personally monitoring the mecadamization work of the road,” he added.
Earlier during a meeting, the Minister reviewed the development works in Gurez Valley with district officers. Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora Sajad Hussain apprised the Minister about various developmental projects taken in hand in Gurez this year. (KNS)
