Traders demand redressal of development issues

Handwara, Feb 24 (KNS): Handwara town in Kupwara district is observing shutdown for second consecutive day today against the government for failing to providing basic facilities to the people. However, the district authorities say they don’t understand the logic of shutdown as the administration has already assured the people to address their grievances.
The town has been observing the shutdown which has been called by Traders Federation Handwara, demanding the government to provide development to the area.
President Traders Federation Handwara Aijaz Ahmad Sofi told KNS that they took the step after Govt failed to provide basic services in the area despite meeting the Deputy Commissioner of Kupwara to redress the grievances.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Sofi threatened to continue the protest if Government does not respond positively.
ADC Handwara Muzafar Ahmad told KNS that the administration doesn't understand why the town has been shutdown despite the locals and traders having been assured by the authorities that their issues and grievances would be looked into and addressed. (KNS)
