Handwara’s Mawer residents decry unscheduled power cuts

Handwara, Dec 18 (KNS): The residents of various villages in Mawer in north Kashmir’s Handwara town on Sunday accused the Power Development Department of not providing electricity as per schedule in this bone-chilling cold.

Residents from Audoora, Nowgam, Drungsoo, Khudi Lawoosa, Warpora, and surrounding areas told KNS that they were experiencing power outages despite paying for electric service on a regular basis. 

Danish Ahmad, a student at Audoora, said due to an unscheduled power cuts, they were facing a lot of inconveniences. 

Another resident of Drungsoo said the PDD should cancel their agreements as they fail to provide electricity as per schedule. 

The residents appealed to the concerned authorities to look into the matter at an earliest so that they can heave a sigh of relief.

Meanwhile, an official said electricity is provided as per schedule and after every three hours, there is one hour power cut. (KNS)
