Srinagar, Mar 09 (KNS): Handwara Police on Monday organized a program for awareness concerning coronavirus and its prevention at district police lines Handwara.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the aim of the program was aware the people about the deadly virus which consumed more than 3800 lives across the globe.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Handwara Dr G V Sandeep advised participants to share this valuable information with all of their family members, colleagues and relatives and the people whom they meet during their duties.
Although the coronavirus has widely spread in many countries so far, in Kashmir no positive reports of such patients have reported.
A doctor of District Hospital Handwara Dr Nazir Ahmad Dar on the occasion said that there are a lot of rumors and misconceptions. First, we need to clear them. We should not believe in WhattsApp forwards and other social media.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said "The symptoms are very common that of flu, so if the child is sneezing or coughing, he or she should not be sent to school. The child should be shown to the doctor and get it checked. Once all things are clear only then the child should be sent to school.
However we should not be afraid of this virus if we take precautions, there is no need to panic”.
All viruses accumulate mutations over time and the virus that causes Covid-19 is no different.
How widespread different strains of a virus become depends on natural selection the versions that can propagate quickest and replicate effectively in the body will be the most “successful”. This doesn’t necessarily mean most dangerous for people though, as viruses that kill people rapidly or make them so sick that they are incapacitated may be less likely to be transmitted, Dr Nazir added.
