Handwara Police organised mini Marathon as a part of Azadi ka Amrut Mohatsav Celebrations

Handwara September 11:(KNS)  In connection with celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav a  mini Marathon was organized by Handwara Police today in which Police personnel, Students of various Schools and Local Youth of Handwara area participated . The mini marathon was categorized into three  age groups viz below 18, 19-25 and 25-40 years.

       The marathon was  started  from GDC Handwara passing through Chotipora, Kohru and culminated at Main Market Langate.The event was organized to celebrate the completion of 75 years of India's freedom by giving boost to the sports activities channelising youth energy in positive manner and to re-affirm the inherent strength of our nation to withstand any threat to the unity and sovereignty . 

     
  On the conclusion of the event Handwara Police  congratulated the winner and runner up and distributed the prizes among the 1st, 2nd and 3rd on all the age groups respectively. 
Raquib Hassan, Faisal Ahmad and Mushtaq Ahmad got first position in their age groups, Amir Reyaz, Faisal Khaja and Mohd Arif 2nd position and Inamul Haq, Amir Sohail and Irshad Ahmad got 3rd positions in the marathon.

SP Handwara also interacted with the participants, thanked them for participation and asked them to participate in such sports events which can help them to chanelize their potential. He also said that Handwara Police always tries to organize sports events so that the talent of the youth can be showcased. Sports and games are good for physical and mental  health as well and the youth addicted to drugs also get opportunity to live their normal life once they are engaged in spots activities.
