Handwara Police arrested two notorious drug peddlers in NDPS case

Handwara June 06 (KNS): In its continuous efforts and war against menace of drugs Handwara Police today arrested two notorious drug peddlers in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vilgam.

 

Statement issued to Kashmir News Service reads, "today a police party of Police Station Vilgam during naka checking intercepted one vehicle ESTILO bearing registration number HP26A377 driven by one person namely Mohd Gulzar Mir S/o Gh Mohi Uddin Mir accompanied by Shoib Ahmad Bhat S/o Mohd Gulzar Bhat both residents Amargad Tarathpora. During search of the vehicle 80 grams of charas has been recovered and both have been arrested and taken to Police custody".

 

It is pertinent to mention here that accused namely Gulzar Ahmad Mir s/o Gh Mohiuddin has remained a notrious drug peddler in the area and has major role in involving people towords drug menace especially youth.

 

 A case FIR NO. 49/21 u/S 8/20 ,29 NDPS act has been registered in police station vilgam against the accused persons and investigation has been taken up.

 

People in general especially people of Tarathpora have hailed the efforts of Handwara police in curbing the menace of drugs in Ramhal area. Handwara police again appeals the general public of the area to share all information about the social evils so that timely action can be taken againt the culprits.(KNS)
