Handwara Police arrested three drug peddlers in two NDPS Case 

Handwara May 31 (KNS): Handwara Police on Monday arrested three drug peddlers in two NDPS cases and recovered contraband substance from their possession.

According to a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Continuing its war against drugs and to eradicate manace of drugs from the society, today a police party of Police station vilgam intercepted one tractor bearing bearing registration number JK09A 8316 driven by one  person namely Javid Ahmad Sheikh accompanied by Danish Ahmad Sheik both  sons  Mohd Akbar sheik R/o Dohama vilgam at Dohama crossing.

During search 650 grams of poppy straw 30 grams of charas and 8970 rupees cash has been recovered from the possession of the  accused persons.

Simultaneously police party of PS vilgam intercepted  another person namely Muneer Ahmad khan S/o Gulam Ahmad khan R/o Manzgam  during naka checking at Manzgam Pachkot crossing and while searching the  said person  30 grams of charas and 3800 rupees cash* has been recovered from his possession.

 Accordingly case FIR No. 46/2021 u/s 8/20,15 NDPS act and Case FIR NO. 47/21 U/s 8/20 NDPS Act have been registered  against the accused persons in police station vilgam and investigation set into motion.
Further it is apt to mention here that all the three pesons booked in different FIRs are notrious drug peddlers in the jurisdiction of vilgam  and have  major role in evolving youth in drug menace.

The act is hailed by general public.
Police Handwara requested the general public to cooperate with the police in curbing the drug menace from the society and whenever they have any kind of information related to drugs share with  law enforcing agencies so that legal action shall be taken.(KNS)
