Hakim welcomes Mufti’s statement on special status to JK

Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) president and Awami Mutihada Mahaz (AMM) leader Hakim Mohammad Yasin Monday welcomed the statement of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayed that the special status given to J&K under the Indian Constitution should not be changed.
In a press statement, Hakim Yasin said it is a welcome step that Chief Minister has endorsed the path of late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah regarding the special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
“Now State Government should firmly defend the remaining provisions of special status of J&K in the Supreme Court. Mufti sahib in his Independence Day speech said that he and his party will defend the special status to the state on which Sheikh Abdullah had done accession with Government of India,” he said.
“Now he should ensure to safeguard the remaining autonomy of the state.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelIt is commitment of Chief Minister,” the PDF president added.
The AMM leader also expressed deep concern over the latest flare up on borders in which several innocent people lost their lives.
“Violence is no solution to any problem. Both India and Pakistan should make headway to resolve the core issue of Kashmir and that is the guarantee to ensure peace on the borders and in the whole sub-continent. We appeal Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan to make sincere efforts to resolve the issue,” he said.
Hakim Yasin, who is MLA Khansahib, said it is people for J&K who are worst affected by the shelling on borders. He also expressed sympathies with the families of those who were killed in the firing on borders.
