Srinagar, Jun 11 (KNS): PDF chairman and MLA, Khansahib Saturday demanded white paper on evacuee property in the state adding that instead of gifting the precious land to blue eyed persons, it should be used to build productive assets.
In a statement issued to KNS, participating in discussion on demand of grants for the departments of Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation and Haj and Auqaf in the legislative assembly today, Hakeem Yasin said that the Government should come clean as on what basis the valuable Evacuee land is being been leased out to favourites on throw away price. He said instead of selling the land, government should convert it into remunerative assets like Shopping Malls and Community centres for the benefit of the people as well as the Evacuee department.

Hakeem said about 600 Kanals of Evacuee land is available near famous tourist destination of Doodhpathri and suggested that the Revenue and Tourism departments should utilize this precious land in joint venture for promoting tourism on commercial lines and other related activities as early as possible.
Hakeem yasin also demanded to set up a committee to streamline the system for making new administrative units functional for the benefit of common masses. He also sought an enquiry as to how land mafia could missuse Roshni Act for illegally for their benefit leaving common man hay and dry. He also urged to put a break on the conversion of agriculture land for construction of Brick kilns and commercial establishments. He called for completion of the land Settlement process. (KNS)
