Hakeem Yaseen seeks relief to hailstorm affected farmers of Budgam

 Budgam, May 26(KNS): Chairman J&K Peoples Democratic Front ( JKPDF) and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has expressed serious concern over the clossal loss caused to fruits and standing crops due to severe  hailstorm and gushy winds in kandi belt of Khansahib and Budgam areas last evning and has demanded sanction of adequate compensation in favour of the affected  farmers .He said severe hailstorm has caused havoc to the fruits inflicting clossal  damage worth crores of Rupees to the farmers.

 
In a statement issued on Friday Hakeem Yaseen while seeking adequate compensation and ex-gratia relief in favour of the victims of severe hailstorm that wrecked havoc to the fruits and standing crops especially apple crop ,paddy ,Cherry and  apricot  in various areas of Khansahib and Budgam last night, said government should immediately come to the rescue of affected farmers for thier livelihood and to save them from starvation. He has demanded the supply of free ration to the farmers whose crops and fruit have been completely damaged by the hail storm.
 
PDF Chairman has urged LG Manoj Sinha to take serious notice of the worst situation arising out of the hailstorm and immediately announce relief measures for the affected farmers .
 
He said hailstorm has inflicted heavy economic losses to fruit growers as their damaged crop shall have no takers in the market now . 
 
He has also demanded to waive off KCC loans of hailstorm affected farmers as they would not be able to repay loan instalments to the respective Banks .(KNS).
