Chrari Sharief Jan14 (KNS): Accusing government of neglecting Nilnag , a high-altitude ancient blue watered lake, in development of tourism infrastructure , Chairman Peoples Democratic Front ( PDF )and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has sought personal intervention of LG Manoj Sinha for promotion of tourism in various high potential virgin tourist resorts in central Kashmirs Budgam district , including Yusmarg , Doodhpathri and Tossamaidan . He accused that not a single peny has been spent on ground on development of Nilnag Lake during the current fiscal so far .
Speaking at PDF workers convention at Buzgoo in Chrari sharief constituency of central kashmir,s Budgam district on Sunday , Hakeem Yaseen catigated concerned department neglectingting Nilnag tourist resort alltogether .
He has demanded urgent measures for development of Nilnag ,Yusmarg ,Doodhpathri and Tossamaidan on mordern lines adding that there was vast tourism potential which needs to be exploited optimally for socio- economic prosperty in these areas . He has demanded construction of Nilnag - Yusmarg -Bargah Gandola project at the earliest adding that the project would open new vistas of tourism related employment opportunities for the local youth.
PDF Chairman castigated tourism department for its lackadaisical approach towards development of Nilnag adding that construction of four modern tourists huts in Nilnag stands completed some two years back but the department has not bothered to take thier possession so far to put these to commercial use for stay of tourists. He has appealed to LG Manoj Sinha to fix responsibility for neglecting development of Nilnag lake and its assests. He said Nilnag is one of the top places for tourists to visit adding that the blue waters of sparkling Nilnag lake and the picturesque surroundings of towering pine trees and snow-capped mountains makes it a must-visit place .The place also offers a great opportunity of trekking to the adventure lovers but the department has faild to tap it fully , Hakeem Yaseen added. He has also demanded restoration of Shumnadi kohl which was imperative for boosting agriculture activities in Buzgoo village and its adjacent areas .
PDF Chairman has reiterated his demand for early execution of work on proposed Gulmarg - Tossamaidan - Doodhpathri tourist circuit to add a newer dimensions on the Kashmir tourism canvass and widen its horizon in a big way . “ Kashmir tourism was much beyond the traditional tourists places of Gulmarg and Pahalgam adding that need of the hour was to earmark equitable funds for development of newer tourist places also, Hakeem Yaseen maintained .
Asking party cadres to widen their public reach in their respective areas to help people solve their day to day problems , Hakeem Yaseen assured that PDF would vociferously plead for the rights and aspirations of the people . “ Now that Apex Court has directed for holding assembly elections in jammu and Kashmir by the end of September 2024 , people should get ready to elect their representative on the basis of merit ,honest and performance on the ground . He cautioned people from exploitive slogans raised by some political parties to deceive them once again for satiating their power lust.(KNS)
